This year the ASAI Masterthesis Prize was awarded to two excellent Diploma Theses out of ten submitted Master/ Diploma Theses.

The winners of the ASAI Prize 2025 are:

Bettina Röthlin was awarded 2000€ prize money for her thesis "Deep Learning-based Identification of Suspicious Areas in Breast MRIs“ (2024). She completed the thesis at TU Vienna under the supervision of Allan Hanbury.

Bernhard Steindl was awarded 2000€ prize money for his thesis "Evaluating the Fairness of News Recommender Algorithms Within Detected User Communities“ (2024). He completed the thesis at TU Vienna under the supervision of Julia Neidhardt.

 

An Honorable Mention goes to:

• Giacomo Munda: "Unveiling Knowledge Graphs in Neural Language Models through Vector Space Transformations"
