The Austrian Society for Artificial Intelligence awards the best Master Thesis / Diploma Thesis Prize in order to promote young researchers who work in the area of Artificial Intelligence.
Requirements
- the thesis must have been defended at an Austrian university
- the research topic is from the general area of Artificial Intelligence
- the thesis has been accepted within the year 2023
- the thesis is the first Master Thesis of the submitting person in a computer-science-related study.
In case a thesis is nominated for another national or international award before or during its review for the ASAI award, the author is requested to inform the organizers about this fact.
Submission
The submission must include
- the thesis as PDF-file,
- a four-page summary in English,
- a declaration of the author that she/he has fulfilled the requirements and an agreement to publish the summary of the thesis on the ASAI webpage.
The documents must be sent via e-mail (ZIP file) to prize@asai.ac.at. The submitted papers remain with the ASAI.
The submission deadline is April 29th, 2024.
Selection
The selection will be based on the following criteria
- originality,
- scientific quality of the work,
- written quality of the work, and
- scientific, economic or public relevance.
The submitted theses will be reviewed by a jury nominated by ASAI. Jury members are obliged to maintain confidentiality. The decision will be taken excluding legal proceedings. The decision might also lead to the fact that no theses will be awarded.
Prizes
Two prizes will be awarded, endowed with a prize money of Euro 2.000 and 1.500 respectively.
Award Ceremony
The award ceremony will be held during the annual ASAI Networking Event on the 23rd, July 2024 in Vienna.
